2009

  • Launched third Clinical Validation Program in partnership with YORKbiotech, Mount Sinai Hospital, Southlake Regional Centre and York Central.

2008

  • Launched second Clinical Validation Program in partnership with BioDiscovery Toronto

2007

  • Launched first Clinical Validation Program in partnership with Golden Horseshoe Biosciences Network (GHBN), Hamilton Health Sciences Centre and McMaster University
  • Launched the HTX-CIHR SME Program

2006

  • Awarded $600,000 through the Ontario Research and Commercialization Program (ORCP) with matching funding from the Industrial Research Assistance Program of the National Research Council (NRC-IRAP) and the Ontario Centres of Excellence Inc. (OCE Inc.) to help build industry receptor capacity in the MAT sector.
  • Launched Business Investment Program

2005

  • Developed a partnership with the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) to enhance the Proof of Principle (POP) program with a thematic approach:  Reducing Hospital Waiting Times and Increasing Service Throughputs in the MAT Space
  • Launched HTX-CIHR R&D Program 

2004

  • Ministry of Research and Innovation (formerly Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MEDT)) awards $6 million over a four year period (2004-2008) to fund proposed Strategic Business Plan and Operating Plan
  • htx.ca - The Health Technology Exchange (HTX) becomes a registered organization
  • Ontario Rehabilitation Technology Consortium (ORTC) transitions into HTX
  • Dr. Morris (Mickey) Milner becomes President & CEO (former Director of ORTC)
  • Peter Goodhand transitions into the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors

2003

  • Ministry of Research and Innovation (formerly Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MEDT)) awards $75,000 to the Medical and Assistive Technology Consortium (MATC) to develop a Strategic Business Plan and Operating Plan to address the outcomes of the SWOT Analysis
  • Peter Goodhand becomes President & CEO

2002

  • Medical and Assistive Technology Consortium (MATC) works with Soloninka & Associates to develop SWOT Analysis on the Medical and Assistive Technology (MAT) sector in Ontario and Western New York.

2001

  • Ministry of Enterprise, Opportunity and Investment (MEOI) awards $200,000 through the Prosperity Demonstration Fund (PDF) to MEDEC, Ontario Rehabilitation Technology Consortium (ORTC) and Trillium Medical Technology Association (TMTA) (formerly Association of Ontario Medical Manufacturers (AOMM)) to review the Medtech space in Ontario
  • Medical and Assistive Technology Consortium (MATC) formed with representatives from MEDEC, ORTC, TMTA and industry stakeholders
  • More than $300,000 in matching funds provided by stakeholders
