Quantum Dental Technologies (QDT) has completed a $1.1 million dollar round of financing. These funds will be used to support final stage product development for product launch. QDT is commercializing The Canary Dental Caries Detection System, an instrument that can detect small and large areas of tooth decay safely without using x-rays. Once detected, the decay can be halted and reversed following application of preventive and remineralization therapies.
In 2009, QDT was acknowledged with several awards. QDT was among the top four companies in the TiEQuest Business Venture Competition. The competition received 200 contestants competing for over $150,000 in prizes from various sponsors, including HTX. In addition, The National Angel Capital Organization recognized QDT as one of the top five angel investment opportunities at their recent co-investment summit in Toronto. Finally, QDT was selected as one of four venture-stage companies to present at the Ivey Business Forum Venture. In 2009, Quantum was also awarded funding from HTX through the Business Investment Program.
